Miralba Colón Jorge has a social commitment to contribute to preserving the environment by working in favor of eradicating mining and human exploitation in the precious metal extraction industry. The environment where these metals are mined is of vital importance to flora, fauna, and human life. Metals are elements that have a function in the crust where they exist and cannot be fully extracted. Its massive extraction causes an imbalance in the entire ecosystem, causing the death of vegetation, animals in the region and affecting the air quality of the surrounding communities.

 

To execute this initiative, recycled metal is used in the manufacture of jewelry. The metals that are worked in the workshop are gold for high-end jewelry, 925 silver for pieces in a medium price range and bronze for collections that require it. With this initiative implement sustainable work to continue manufacturing spectacular designs with a high-quality result within an ethical environment. The metal that arrives at the workshop is carefully evaluated with various acid tests to measure its purity. The metal is then refined and cleaned in the smelting process where a new ingot is made that will be used to make the designs.
